Spontaneous Beach'n

Today I took Kamryn to school instead of her riding the bus. Her Comanche project was due and I didn't want her losing all the little pieces on the bouncy bus. We worked really hard on it together and learned some pretty interesting facts about the Comanche tribe. For example, they were nomadic and when it was time to move on, the women were the ones responsible for taking down the tee-pee and packing everything up. Man, I wouldn't want to mess with a Comanche mama!!

When we got to the school, Kamryn said as she was getting out "This is so embarrassing carrying this thing in" (it is a little canvas with a tee-pee on it and a few other things, barely noticeable.) You know, maybe next time I will help her carry it in. Then she will know what embarrassed really feels like!! :)
Today I had planned on taking the little ones to Cole Park. It is a really cool local playground on the bay that has lots of mazes, swings, slides, and other cool stuff. But mom called me up and didn't need to do much to convince me to go to Snoopy's instead. Snoopy's is another great local joint. It is a seafood restaurant on the bay where you can get great greasy food, beers, and sit on the deck to eat. So that is exactly what we did. Mom had fried oysters and Summer Grace and I shared a kids fried fish plate. Lucas ate alot of crackers and only choked once. Go Lucas!! We also each had a beer.....mom and me that is. Summer Grace and Lucas passed on the cervezas.

Summer Grace made herself a mean lemonade though.

So we sat on the deck and enjoyed a nice cool breeze and made plans to hit up the beach next. Mom and I were secretly having a contest on who could find the coolest spot on the beach to hang on. I had a great space in mind where Joseph and I went on our last date (boy, that was a looooooong time ago, huh Joseph?). Mom had a different spot that I KNOW she THOUGHT was better than mine. ;)

Well, since I am such a good daughter, I humored her for awhile and looked around for this spot of hers that was supposedly so grand. But eventually we meandered to MY SPOT! It really is a great spot. The sand is nice and packed down, there is a very wide sidewalk to walk or jog on if you don't want to get sandy but want to exercise on the beach. It is also very clean. For you locals, it is the spot off Whitecap on the Island next to the nice motels, I think the street name is Winward?? Anyways, they have a public parking area....for free!!! (hard to come by in Corpus, the city that is always looking to make a tiny bang off my little tinsy tiny buck).

So we sat in the sand, Summer Grace ran in circles and practiced writing all her letters in the sand. Lucas worked very very very hard to get as dirty as he possibly could. He even convinced me to let him chew on Summer Grace's flip flop. He got really ticked off when I took it away from him and was about to ruin the serenity of the occasion, so I decided really quickly that if he was in daycare, he would be exposed to all kinds of germs, and so I went ahead and let him get a dose of germs in today.

Now we are home. I forgot my camera on this little adventure though. I will try and be a better blogger next time and remember it so that I can show hard-core proof of my stories.
....
Lucas was very angry at me for sticking his dirty tail in the tub. I guess he thought since he worked so hard at getting dirty, I was going to let him stay that way.
....
Summer Grace is all tuckered out though, look and see for yourself.
Here is a pic of Lucas showing off his crazy crawling skills (I tried to post a video but couldn't get it to load. so if you want to see him in action, go to facebook).
He is just a crawlin, just a crawlin, oh yea!!......Peace out, Yo.
